Manchester United are considering making a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports.

The Lyon hitman is very the definition of a modern striker, combing his pace with some excellent finishing.

The 26-year-old scored 22 and assisted five in all competitions for Lyon this past season, and has also previously proven himself against the best side in England.

Dembele came on for the final 15 minutes of Lyon’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Manchester City in 2020, and went on to score two goals thanks to his ability to get in behind City’s backline.

Dembele to Manchester United

At present, Manchester United have two natural strikers on their books in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial.

However, Ronaldo is out of contract next year and could be set to depart United this summer anyway after missing all of the Red Devils’ pre-season training to date.

Martial, meanwhile, proved during 2020/21 that he is simply noy good enough to be a starting centre-forward for United.

So, it is clear that Manchester outfit must improve in this area sooner rather than later,

And, according to Media Foot, Manchester United are considering making a move for Dembele should Ronaldo leave this summer. It is added that The French forward only has one year left on his deal, so Manchester United could secure themselves a bargain replacement for Ronaldo.

However, as Dembele did have a very prolific 2021/22, it is hard to see Lyon letting him go for that low a fee, even if they cannot secure his full worth due to the contract situation.
