Two members of Manchester United’s squad have been singled out for heavy criticism this evening, on the back of the club’s meeting with Aston Villa.
McTominay makes the difference
Ralf Rangnick’s men were of course back in action a short time ago.
In the last of the fixtures in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, the Red Devils welcomed the aforementioned Aston Villa to Old Trafford, eyeing a return to winning ways on the back of a concerning defeat to Wolves last time out.
And, to their credit, when all was said and done, secure a bounce-back result is precisely what United managed.
A solitary goal, nodded home by Scott McTominay inside ten minutes, ultimately proved enough to guide the evening’s hosts beyond Steven Gerrard’s Villans, and into the 4th round of the FA Cup:

‘Convinced they hate each other’
On the back of a night’s work which saw their side keep hopes of securing a long overdue piece of silverware alive, the assumption would of course therefore be that the Manchester United faithful would be in positive mood post-match.
This, however, has in fact since proven far from the case.
In truth, Rangnick’s troops were outplayed across lengthy stretches this evening, with Aston Villa hugely unlucky to have come away from Old Trafford on the wrong end of the eventual result.

A whole host of the Red Devils’ underperforming stars, in turn, have been singled out for criticism, with the likes of Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Fred all targeted.
None, however, have been more widely slated than attacking pair Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.
This comes owing to what has been widely described as greediness on the part of the English internationals in front of goal, after both Rashford and Greenwood opted against teeing the other up when in promising positions over the course of the 90 minutes.
Some have even gone as far as to suggest that the attacking partners in crime play as though they ‘hate each other’, with just some of the highlights from across social media showcased below:
Greenwood and Rashford are so greedy. If they actually passed to each other we would score more ffs! #MUFC

How is Rashford even getting games, Greenwood is greedy, Rashford is greedy and has zero form.

Rashford and Greenwood play like they hate each other

Greenwood ain’t an angel either. Rashford didn’t square it to him earlier so he was petty and decided to avoid rashford and be greedy. These 2 together is a recipe for disaster

So we’re back to Rashford and Greenwood playing like they hate each other again, that chance screams Leipzig away last season

Do Rashford and Greenwood hate each other? Genuinely? They don’t look for each other, or actively ignore the other.
