An insight into the kind of financial outlay which Premier League giants Arsenal will need to commit to if they hope to land Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina has been provided on Monday evening.

Gunners eyeing Viola star

Serbian hitman Vlahovic, in the midst of a stellar campaign in Florence to date, has of course been hotly tipped to make the move to the Emirates this month.

This comes with now-former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having been banished to the stands, and both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah due to see their contracts expire come the season’s end.

The 21-year-old, boasting 18 goals in just 22 appearances across all competitions this term, in turn, has been identified as the first-choice target to reinforce the club’s frontline by those in a position of power in north London.

And though the likes of capital rivals Tottenham and Serie A heavyweights Juventus are also known to be keen on the prolific striker, Arsenal have been widely labelled as the frontrunners to strike a deal.

Not only that, but Fiorentina are understood to be open to the prospect of a sale this month.

£150 million deal?

So, what’s the hold up?

Well, as alluded to above, late on Monday, an insight into precisely that has been provided online.

The info comes courtesy of Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, who has unearthed the kind of financial commitment which will be required to close an agreement with both Fiorentina, and Vlahovic himself.

And the figures, to put it lightly, are nothing short of eye-watering.

The Serb’s club, for one, have communicated that a minimum of £58 million will be required for the Viola to part with their crown jewel this month.

On top of that, Vlahovic himself is said to have unveiled wage demands of £160,000-per-week after tax, equating to £300,000-per-week in full, over the course of five years.

The costs don’t end there, though, with the attacker’s agent, in addition, eyeing a £15 million commission as part of any deal struck for his client.

All told, these figures combined amount to a staggering £150 million.

Perhaps even more significant than the money required to lure Vlahovic away from Florence coming to light in itself, though, is Arsenal’s stance on the transfer.

Mokbel adds that the Gunners, after being made aware of the demands on the part of club, player and agents alike, have not been at all deterred, continuing to work towards finding a January agreement to bring one of Europe’s finest up-and-coming talents to the Emirates.
