Pep Guardiola has been speaking to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Manchester City’s next outing.

Manchester City will face off with Watford on Saturday afternoon, kicking off at the Etihad at 3 pm.

Ahead of the clash, Pep discussed a number of topics in his pre-match press conference, including Kyle Walker.

The right-back missed Man City’s midweek win over Brighton and remains a slight doubt for the game against Watford.

“He’s getting better, we’ll see tomorrow,” Pep said when asked for an update on Walker.

Elsewhere, Pep provided a somewhat concerning update on John Stones and Nathan Ake:

“Stones has niggles, like Nathan we leave until tomorrow and we see,” Pep said on the centre-back duo.

Should both Stones and Ake miss out vs Watford, it could mean Manchester City have to rush Ruban Dias back to playing 90 minutes of action quicker than they would have liked.

Manchester City vs Watford

Manchester City head into the Watford game knowing they have to win to ensure they maintain top spot in the Premier League.

And as the Sky Blues are playing on Saturday, a win over Watford puts more pressure on Liverpool ahead of their clash with Everton on Sunday.

A Manchester City win this weekend is also pretty likely. The Hornets are having a dismal 2021/22 that looks set to see them go straight back down to the Championship.

Watford also have an awful record against Man City. They have not beaten the Manchester outfit in any competition since 1989, with the last four meetings between the pair seeing the Citizens pick up 3-1, 4-0, 8-0 and 6-0 victories.
