An insight into FC Barcelona summer transfer plans has been provided recently.
La Blaugrana are slowly beginning to rebuild their squad after a tough few years and have made some solid accusations in the market this year.
Three of these were forward players in the form of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and Adama Traore.
And despite signing two of that three on permanent deals, Barca continue to be linked with attackers, including the likes of Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland.
Now though, it has been reported that Xavi Hernandez is not thinking about the likes of Haaland, or Salah and instead considers that the priority should be to reinforce Barcelona’s defence:

Xavi wants changes in defence
It is easy to see why Xavi may wish to improve Barcelona’s defence as, barring a few players, it is full of ageing, injury-prone assets.
One of the few standouts in that area for the Catalonian powerhouse right now is Ronaldo Araujo, who is capable of doing a job at both right-back and centre-back.
So, it is not too surprising to see it reported that Xavi has asked Barca to priorities the contract renewal of the Uruguayan, whose current deal runs out in 2023.
Elsewhere, it has been claimed that ‘Xavi considers that the ageing Barcelona defence is too slow. He has asked the technical staff to prioritize the signings of fast defenders. When he thinks of fast defenders now, he only mentions Dest and Araujo.’
