An insight into the chances of Manchester United luring Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to Old Trafford has been provided on Sunday evening.

Surprise links between German tactician Tuchel and the Red Devils have of course begun to spread across the media over the course of the last couple of weeks.

This comes ahead of the imminent changing of ownership in west London, as long-time chief Roman Abramovich inches towards the exit door.

Manchester United, in turn, are understood to have sounded out the possibility of an approach for Tuchel, hopeful of taking advantage of the mounting uncertainty at Stamford Bridge.

If the latest insight into the situation to have come to the fore on Sunday is anything to go by, though, then such a move actually coming to fruition appears altogether unlikely.

As per transfer expert David Ornstein, both Tuchel and those in a position of power at Chelsea remain fully intent on continuing their relationship through the summer and beyond.

When drawn on the likelihood of Tuchel swapping the English capital for Manchester come the campaign’s conclusion during an appearance on Sky Sports this evening, Ornstein explained:

”Thomas Tuchel is someone that would appeal to Manchester United. He would appeal to many other clubs around the world, if he was available.”

”He’s not available. He’s manager of Chelsea. He wants to stay there, and if things work out and the new ownership wants him to stay and he wants to be a part of it, then I’m sure that relationship will continue.

”If it doesn’t work out, and they don’t want him to be a part of it, then things could change. But they won’t change quick enough for Manchester United, who are trying to wrap up their managerial process as soon as possible.”
