Anthony Martial has recently spoken out about his decision to leave Manchester United.
The Frenchman departed the club in January, linking up with Spanish outfit Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
The loan does not have an option to buy, but regardless of this, it sounds as though Martial has already put his time in Manchester behind him.
Speaking about his exit recently, the former AS Monaco starlet suggested he left the club so that he can enjoy his football again:
“For me, it was the best option to play and enjoy football again. I lost it a little bit in Manchester because I was not playing,” Martial said.
“I feel very good in Sevilla. The city is very good and we are a good team so, for me, it’s perfect. I’m playing so I’m happy.
“But I’m here just until the end of the season and that’s it.
“When he (Rangnick) arrived, my objective was to leave. I told him I wanted to leave and that’s it.
“He talked to me and said, ‘if you want to stay, with the way you train you will play if you keep training like that’. But I wanted to have a new atmosphere and a new club.”
Martial then all but confirmed he will not be returning to Manchester United next season: “I asked United to leave because I wanted to play. I still have a contract but they know what I want, so we will see at the end of the season.”

Manchester United need a striker
With Martial looking set to move on, Manchester United’s need for a new striker in the summer has grown even more.
Cristiano Ronaldo is now 37 and is no longer able to perform at the top level on a regular basis.
Edinson Cavani, meanwhile, has spent much of the current season out with fitness issues and is also set to leave the club for free in the summer.
