During his press conference, Mikel Arteta would discuss a number of topics, including team news.
Takehiro Tomiyasu missed Arsenal’s last league outing due to injury and when speaking on Wednesday, Arteta remained coy on the defender’s potential involvement vs Wolves:
“He’s there. He had a recurring injury so we had to be careful with him. He’s been training hard. Let’s see if he’s available for Thursday.”

Arteta on Arsenal’s lack of transfers in January
Elsewhere in the presser, Arteta was asked about Arsenal’s lack of January transfers.
The Gunners did not bring in a single senior player, but let a number of them go either on loan or on frees.
This has left Arsenal with a pretty thin squad for the remainder of 2021/22, with one big injury potentially able to derail their entire campaign.
Arteta, though, backed his decision to do little business:
“We did what we believed was the right thing to do”, he said. “The squad composition and contracts were catching up, be fair with players who haven’t had a lot of minutes.
“We had a clear plan of what we can do but then it has to be doable. Edu and his team have done a great job.
“We are very clear we only want the best people and the best players at this club. When we are in a rush and the reasons to get a player on board are not the right ones we didn’t do it.”
