It may end in tears pain rather than joy, but for the moment non-league side Kidderminster Harriers are on course to continue their FA Cup fairytale, and knock out Champions League hopefuls West Ham.

The Harriers, who welcomed the Hammers as a result of their 2-1 win over Reading in the 3rd round, got off to a dream start as they took the lead over David Moyes’ side midway through the first 45 minutes, to the elation of the home crowd.

Should they hold on, they would progress to the FA Cup 5th round for the second time in their history, with their run having been ended by West Ham in 1984 last time they made it to that stage.

Defender singled out

West Ham fans on the other hand were far from pleased with their side’s display, with much of the ire centring on their defensive issues.

And, as can be seen below, it was centre-back Issa Diop that was the main man in the firing line in the eyes of the Hammers’ faithful.
