Supporters of Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur have taken to social media in their numbers on Saturday evening, to heap praise on defender Cristian Romero.

Antonio Conte’s troops of course marked their return to action a short time ago.

In the knowledge that the competition represents the club’s only realistic remaining avenue towards silverware this season, Spurs welcomed Brighton & Hove Albion to north London, for an FA Cup 4th-round clash.

And, when all was said and done, the Lilywhites managed to keep their hopes of a first trophy in well over a decade very much alive.

A fine display ultimately culminated in the evening’s hosts emerging on the right side of a 3-1 scoreline, to book their spot in the FA Cup’s Last-16.

Harry Kane opened the game’s scoring in sumptuous fashion inside fifteen minutes, before further strikes on the part of both Emerson (with the help of a heavy deflection) and brace-hitter Kane ensured that Yves Bissouma’s moment of individual brilliance ultimately proved little more than a consolation for Brighton.

‘The best’

As alluded to above, however, on the back of the final whistle bringing a close to proceedings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening, it is not the name of difference-maker Kane which has in fact taken centre stage in the post-match chatter.

Instead, this honour has been reserved for another starring member of Antonio Conte’s squad, in the form of Cristian Romero.

Argentine international Romero marked his return to action on the back of a near 3-month injury layoff this evening, and barely missed a step, marshalling Spurs’ backline with equal quality and tenacity.

In turn, the Tottenham faithful have since made their appreciation for ‘Cuti’ clear, with just some of the highlights from across social media showcased below:
