Manchester United look to have taken the lead in the hunt for Marseille midfielder, Boubacar Kamara.
Kamara is a central midfielder who looks set for a bright future. The 22-year-old ranked 11th for most interceptions and tackles made by midfielders in Ligue 1 last term despite being fairly young and has continued to impress this term as Marseille fight it out for a Champions League place.
However, Kamara is out of contract with his current club in the summer, meaning that he can sign pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs before joining them on a free ahead of next season.
Given Kamara’s clear ability, the youngster was expected to have a number of suitors.
And now, Sport Witness citing reports from Italy, are reporting that Manchester United have overtaken all competitors in the race to sign Kamara.
The report, though, does not specify if Manchester United are looking at signing Kamara in the current window, when they would have to pay some form of transfer fee (presumably a reduced fee), or in the summer when they could snap him up for nothing.

Manchester United prioritising a midfielder
The report from Sport Witness comes after the Manchester Evening News, as covered by 101 on Monday, reported that the Red Devils accept that midfield is the biggest problem in their squad, and that position has been identified as a priority.
That is not at all surprising, though, with United having been lacking a proper defensive midfielder for some time now.
Scott McTominay and Fred continue to show flashes of quality, but it is clear the club need a natural no.6, and Kamara would seemingly fit that bill.
