Despite missing out on key target Dušan Vlahović after the Serbian is set for a move to Juventus, Arsenal remains determined to secure a deal for Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Bruno Guimarães.

That report comes from SkySports via their Transfer Center ticker and cites that a £25million move could still be on the cards for the Brazilian.

Also credited with an interest in the 24-year-old are Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham, as well as French giants Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian international has been one of the brightest performers in France in his current position across the last two seasons, and his acquisition for the Gunners would help the club continue their long-term rebuild under Mikel Arteta.

AS Roma still eyeing Granit Xhaka

Speaking of midfield, Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka is still a wanted man in the Italian capital as José Mourinho’s AS Roma remains keen on the former Arsenal captain after missing out on a deal in the summer.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Xhaka is one of two names that Mourinho is potentially interested in striking a possible deal for before the January window comes to an end along with Olympique de Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara.

Transfer roundup: Arsenal have not given up on Guimaraes, Roma remain keen on Xhaka & John-Jules completes loan move

The former Borussia Mönchengladbach standout remains a key asset at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta and is first-choice in his position in the center of the park alongside Thomas Partey, but if the club was to bring in Juventus midfielder Arthur on loan – a deal which they seem to be making headway on – then Roma may look to pounce on the Swiss star in due course.

Should Arsenal secure a deal for both Bruno Guimarães and Arthur then surely the writing could well be on the wall for Xhaka’s long-term stint with the Gunners.

John-Jules completes Sheffield Wednesday loan move

Another Arsenal academy graduate is set for further valuable time away from the club after Tyreece John-Jules completed a loan move to Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday today.

Still only 20-years-old, John-Jules has already received loan stints at Lincoln City, Doncaster, and Blackpool in the last three seasons with his best period away from the club coming last season when he bagged 5-goals in 18-appearances at Bloomfield Road.

The England U21 international is one of a long list of young Arsenal forwards looking to continue their progression after graduating from Hale End, with the likes of Folarin Balogun also being given the chance to cut his teeth in the first-team after sealing a move to Middlesbrough.
