An insight into Arsenal’s striking plans going forward has been provided on Tuesday.

For much of January, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic.

However, it now appears as though Arsenal, much like with Manuel Locatelli over the summer, are set to lose out to Juventus.

It has been reported on Tuesday that Juventus have submitted an official bid for Vlahovic and Fiorentina are prepared to accept the €75m fee on the table. It is added that a verbal agreement between the clubs is in place, with Juventus now working on personal terms with Vlahovic.

Arsenal’s hopes of landing a striker this month, though, do not look to be over, with Spanish outlet AS reporting that Arsenal are considering Raul de Tomas as an alternative to Vlahovic.

Such a deal could prove costly, though, with Raul de Tomas said to have a €70m release clause.

Who is Raul de Tomas?

De Tomas would join current club Espanyol in 2020 from Benfica and is contracted to them until 2026.

De Tomas has so far featured on 76 occasions for Espanyol, netting a very respectable 40 goals in the process.

De Tomas’ impressive form over the last year or so has also seen him, despite being 27, earn his senior Spain debut back in November of 2021.
