And, while there is talk of recalls this January for those impressing, it seems unlikely.
Colwill to stay in Huddersfield
One man who will not be returning to Stamford Bridge this January however is young defender Levi Colwill.

The youngster is currently on loan at Huddersfield Town, and has made 20 appearances for the Championship outfit, helping them to just a place outside of the playoff places. His performances have led to rumours that he could be recalled, either to form a part of Chelsea’s defence or to be loaned out at a higher level for the remainder of the campaign.
As per David Ornstein of The Athletic, however, this will not happen.
This comes because “as part of the deal which took the England youth international to Huddersfield — a clause was inserted stipulating that Chelsea could only bring him back to Stamford Bridge this month if a specific threshold relating to game time had not been reached.”
However, because Colwill has racked up 1788 minutes for the Terriers this season, a frightful number for a player just 18 years old, he is believed to have surpassed the threshold for required games.
This means that he cannot be recalled by Tuchel and co., although from his perspective he will undoubtedly be relishing the prospect of promotion with the Yorkshire side.
Chelsea target Hugo Ekitike
Now, as per French outlet Foot Mercato (via Get French Football News), the Blues have made an enquiry for Reims’ star forward Hugo Ekitike, who had also caught the eye of Newcastle United this January.

However, while Newcastle were interested in a January move, Chelsea are reportedly keen on laying the groundwork for a summer transfer, though the French club are thought to be holding out for between 40 and 45 million euros for their teenage wonderkid.
