Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Aston Villa and Manchester United are set to face off for the second time in the space of a week on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils face a trip to Villa Park for a 5:30 pm UK time Premier League kick-off.

Man United would see off Villa by one goal to nil in the FA Cup earlier this week and will be hoping for a similar result this time around, though perhaps a more dominant display would not be the worse thing for United.

Manchester United head into the weekend’s league action 7th in the table, but they can go level on points with 5th should they win their game in hand.

As for Aston Villa, they are down in 13th place and have now lost their last three outings across all competitions.

Diogo Dalot latest ahead of Aston Villa

Ahead of the game, an update on Diogo Dalot has emerged.

The right-back started in United’s last outing vs Villa on Monday. During the tie, the Portuguese would pick an ankle issue, with it revealed post-game that Dalot needed to have stitches in his ankle:

As a result, the 22-year-old’s potential participation for Manchester United this weekend did appear to be up in the air.

However, the Manchester Evening News have provided an update on Dalot and it looks to be largely positive:

Sources say Dalot was in pain towards the end of the game but is due to have a recovery session on Tuesday and is confident of being fit for the game at Villa Park in four days’ time.
