West Ham have been handed some excellent news on the personnel front on Monday after a Kurt Zouma update emerged.

Zouma injured

Kurt Zouma would join West Ham over the summer, departing Chelsea in search of more regular game time.

This is exactly what the Frenchman was able to find at West Ham, with Zouma slotting seamlessly into the Londoners’ backline.

Zouma impressed on a number of occasions for the Hammers during the first few months at the club, but would then pick up an injury in their win over Chelsea.

At the time, it was reported that Zouma was expected to be out for around 12 weeks.

This would have seen the centre-back returning to action at some point in February.

Now though, it appears as though Zouma is expected to return much sooner.

The Evening Standard report that the defender is well ahead of schedule in his recovery from injury.

They add that Zouma was initially expected to return at some point in February but now the Frenchman could be available for West Ham’s trip to Manchester United on January 22nd.

This would be a huge boost for David Moyes and co., who have two fairly easy games before the clash with United.

Firstly, West Ham will take on Premier League basement dwellers at the London Stadium on Wednesday the 12th of January.

They then have another home tie vs an out-of-form Leeds United side four days later.
