An update on the availability of new Aston Villa addition Philippe Coutinho for the club’s weekend showdown with Manchester United has been provided on Monday evening.
Coutinho secured
The endeavours of Premier League outfit Villa on the back of the opening of the winter transfer window have of course taken their place front and centre in the headlines over the course of the last week.
This comes after the Claret and Blue shocked the masses in pushing a deal over the line for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho.
As confirmed in a post across the club’s social media platforms on Friday, Brazilian international Coutinho has made the move to Villa Park on loan for the remainder of the campaign, with a view to a potentially permanent deal in the summer:

Debut versus United?
Coutinho, in turn, confirmed late on Sunday evening that, after recovering from a bout of Covid-19, he was en route to England, ahead of undertaking his medical this afternoon.
And, as alluded to above, on Monday, a fresh update on the situation has been provided.
As per a report from Sky Sports News, the latest addition to Steven Gerrard’s ranks has successfully completed his medical tests.
Even more significant, though, is the fact that Coutinho’s debut in Claret and Blue therefore looks set to come against none other than Manchester United, former club Liverpool’s fiercest rivals.
Though the Brazilian will not be available for the FA Cup 3rd-round showdown between the clubs later this evening, he will be eligible to line out at Villa Park this coming Saturday, when the Villans and Red Devils do battle once more, this time in the Premier League.
