Supporters of Newcastle United can begin to get excited, as confirmation arrives of exactly when the club intend to announce the long-awaited arrival of Kieran Trippier.
Magpies hard at work
The name of English international Trippier has of course taken its place front and centre in the media headlines over the course of the last week.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that the gifted right-back is on the verge of a return to the Premier League, with Newcastle United.
Amid the club’s efforts to avoid the drop, the newly-minted Magpies are expected to target a whole host of high-profile reinforcements this month, to add to a severely under-performing squad under the watch of Eddie Howe.
Whilst links with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Jesse Lingard have come and gone, though, one constant has remained – that man Trippier.
Friday announcement
And now, as alluded to above, a fresh insight into Newcastle’s plans to finally announce a deal with Atletico Madrid has been provided late on Thursday.
The info comes courtesy of the reliable Sam Wallace of the Daily Telegraph.
Despite claims to the contrary, the Geordie giants, in fact, do not intend to confirm Trippier’s signing later this evening.
Instead, the announcement which the club’s supporters have been so anxiously awaiting will be forthcoming on Friday morning, having been rescheduled owing to a brief delay in finalising the required documentation.
