A series of quotes attributed to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku will no doubt be met with widespread concern on the part of the Blues hierarchy on Thursday evening.

Blues struggling

Developments in west London have, of course, taken their place front and centre in the media chatter of late.

This comes with Thomas Tuchel and co. in the midst of their most challenging stretch of the campaign to date.

Amid an alarming personnel crisis, owing to a host of blows on both the Covid-19 and injury fronts, Chelsea have slipped alarmingly off the pace of the Premier League title race.

A 1-1 stalemate with Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night means that the Pensioners now sit a hefty eight points off table-topping Manchester City, on the back of just one win from their last five league outings at Stamford Bridge.

‘Not happy’

Amid the club’s efforts to get things back on track over the course of the last week, one shining light for Chelsea has at least come in the form of the return to form of hitman Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian, on the back of spells out with both Covid-19 and injury, emerged from the bench to find the net at Aston Villa at the weekend, before opening the scoring up against Brighton, too.

But, as alluded to above, if the latest comments on the part of the ex-Manchester United man are anything to go by, then Tuchel and co. may well have another problem brewing in the camp.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sport this evening, Lukaku was quoted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano providing an insight into just how unhappy he is with his current situation in the English capital:

Significantly, ‘Big Rom’ also went on to confirm his plans to secure a return to Italy with Inter Milan, before issuing an apology to the Nerazzurri faithful:
