The 24 year old Colombian is a versatile option, able to play out in the wide berths as well as centrally behind the striker, although with Bruno Fernandes already at the club it is more likely that he retains his traditional wide berth should he swap Porto for Manchester.

His goalscoring record isn’t bad either, with Diaz having notched up 13 goals and 3 assists in 22 competitions this season to date, including 2 goals on the Champions League stage.

As per the report (via teamtalk), the Portuguese outfit could be tempted to cash in on their biggest asset after being knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.

With a rumoured price-tag of 80 million euros, is it a move Manchester United should be making?

Newcastle willing to “pay everything Manchester United ask” for Anthony Martial

Manchester United have once again become embroiled in agent talk. This time, it is not about Paul Pogba, instead regarding his compatriot Anthony Martial, who has been a fringe player this season.

The striker’s agent, Philippe Lamboley. told SkySports:

“Anthony wishes to leave the club in January.

“He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”

A gaggle of suitors will surely emerge for his signature should he be available, but as per Spanish outlet El Nacional, none will be more keen that Newcastle United, whose new owners are keen to make statement signings as they look to fight off relegation from the top flight in the second half of the season.

According to the report, Newcastle are willing to pay whatever Manchester United demand for the 26 year old, as well as a hefty sum to his agent, to ensure the deal is done.

Would he help keep them up?

Edinson Cavani also nearing exit door

Another striker heading towards the exit door in the near future is Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan sees his contract expire this summer, and is looking less and less likely to pen a new deal at Old Trafford.

Now, Cavani’s agent, Walter Guglielmone, has had his say, and seems to have confirmed the striker’s imminent departure. He claimed:

“We have to wait a bit, we will see what possibilities exist,”

“Obviously, if any team from Brazil comes up with a good project, we can always listen. I have an obligation to send all options to Cavani.”

Manchester United have allegedly already lined up four potential strikers to replace their wantaway man with in the summer but, judging by recent comments, could be set to lose him sooner than that.
