Footage of incoming Chelsea owner Todd Boehly being left altogether disappointed by the interjection of VAR has come to the fore on Saturday afternoon.

This comes after the 46-year-old took a major step forward in his efforts to take Chelsea off the hands of the departing Roman Abramovich, by putting pen to paper on a purchase agreement in west London.

Boehly’s proposal, in turn, will be put forth for approval in front of both the UK government and Premier League over the coming days.

RLC’s opener ruled out

With his takeover of Chelsea now looking imminent, it therefore came as little surprise to see Boehly in attendance at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues are of course currently locked in action, eyeing a return to winning ways in a Premier League meeting with Wolves.

And Thomas Tuchel’s troops appeared to have put themselves on track for precisely that late in the first-half, when Ruben Loftus-Cheek slotted home at the back post, bringing the club’s soon-to-be new owner to his feet in celebration:

Boehly, however, was from here swiftly forced to familiarise himself with VAR-induced heartache, as subsequent checks culminated in Chelsea’s opener being ruled out for offside:
