A fresh update on Aston Villa’s pursuit of Yves Bissouma has emerged.

During the January transfer window it was reported that Aston Villa were amongst the clubs interested in Brighton star, Yves Bissouma.

No deal would be forthcoming at the time, but Villa boss Steven Gerrard has now spoken out about their failed bid for Bissouma.

When doing so, Gerrard added that Villa may have to be patient in a few situations:

“It was well documented that we put in a bid for Bissouma at Brighton which was turned away, and we respected and appreciated that,” he said.

“If a move is not right then we will not become desperate and make decisions that we do not think is right.

“If it’s not right at the time we might have to be patient in a few situations.

“The window [for Villa] was extremely strong. There were areas that we needed to find solutions for us to be stronger and better.

“We got 90 to 95 per cent of business done that we wanted to get done in the window. I’m delighted with the support from the board.”

Now, the Telegraph are reporting that Aston Villa are set to make another move for Yves Bissouma.

Villa offered £25m for Bissouma in January but Brighton turned down the offer. Now though, Villa will focus on making a renewed move to sign the Mali international this summer:
