Arsenal chase a forward

Arsenal are in desperate need of a striker, with their problems in that department well documented this season, and even more so following the exile of former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Despite being in seeming free-scoring form compared to the start of the season, reinforcements are still needed, and the man most heavily linked with a move to north London is Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.

The marksman has netted 23 times in 29 appearances for La Viola this season, and equalled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most Serie A goals in a calendar year in 2021.

And now, there are potentially major developments.

Arsenal set to have bid accepted?

Now, as per FourFourTwo, Fiorentina are set to accept the “mammoth Dusan Vlahovic bid” that has been put forward by Arsenal, thought to be in the region of 58 million pounds, though they warn that any deal remains “far from complete”.

This is largely due to the hefty wages and agents fees that the Gunners have reportedly been quoted, with Sami Mokbel revealing that the Serbian will demand £300,000 a week, a significant step up from his £26,000 a week deal at Fiorentina.

Additionally, the Gunners will also have to fork out an extra 15 million pounds in agent fees.

With this in mind, and the added question as to whether Vlahovic even wants to join the club, agreeing on a fee is the easy part.
