A humorous sequence of events, stemming from the showdown between Chelsea and Liverpool, has piqued widespread attentions online this evening.

Blues roar back

The headline fixture of the Premier League weekend is, of course, currently playing out at Stamford Bridge.

Amid the tense battle to keep pace with runaway table-toppers Manchester City, Chelsea have welcomed Liverpool to west London, for a highly-anticipated meeting between two of English football’s biggest clubs.

And to say that, thus far, the action has lived up to expectations would be putting it lightly.

A pulsating opening 45 minutes, during which the scoreline could easily have been added to further, ultimately culminated in the two sides heading in at the break locked at two goals apiece.

It was Liverpool who appeared in firm control of proceedings early on, as Mohamed Salah added to partner in crime Sadio Mane’s opener in sumptuous fashion.

Chelsea, however, soon came roaring back, first pulling one back courtesy of Mateo Kovacic’s stunning volley, before ensuring that they headed into the interval on level terms when Christian Pulisic lobbed home in style.

TAA’s perfect response

And, as alluded to above, amid the chaotic scenes in the English capital on Sunday, yet another moment, this time an altogether humorous one, has gone equally viral across social media.

The incident in question arrived midway through the first-half, when the home support in attendance at Stamford Bridge took aim at Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold with a chant of:

‘You’re just a s**t Reece James!’

The English international, however, took just minutes to force the Chelsea faithful to eat their words.

This came as TAA set Mo Salah free for Liverpool’s 2nd of the evening, courtesy of a trademark defence-splitting pass, as can be seen below:
