\n\tBefore the days of \u201cPatiently Waiting\u201d and \u201cCrack a Bottle,\u201d there was an initial meeting between 50 Cent <\/a>and Eminem<\/a> that laid the foundation for one of the most fruitful partnerships in all of hip-hop.<\/p>\n \n\t50 sat down with the hosts of Million Dollaz Worth of Game<\/a><\/em> over the weekend and took a trip down memory lane to recall his first encounter with Eminem, which he described as \u201cwild.\u201d The Queens legend even wore his signature bulletproof vest, as he wasn\u2019t going to be taking any chances on the West Coast.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt was wild,\u201d he said. \u201cRemember that show they had, Punk\u2019d <\/em>on MTV? I thought they had cameras and they was gonna come out and say, \u2018You\u2019ve been Punk\u2019d<\/em>.\u2019 I was in California. He flew me to L.A. I came out, I was so bugged out from the experience that I came through the airport with the [bulletproof] vest and sh\u2013 on. I\u2019m lucky I took the shock plate out the front of the joint because when I came through it [didn\u2019t go off].\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t50 continued: \u201cI get there, he\u2019s like, \u2018Yo!\u2019 Hugs me, feel the vest and sh\u2013 and was like [shocked expression<\/em>]. [I said,] \u2018Yo, this is going to be the biggest sh\u2013 ever, right?\u2019 He\u2019s like, \u2018Yo, so excited.\u2019 It made me question whether what was happening was happening was right. It felt so good that it couldn\u2019t be right. I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, nah.\u2019 When I left that meeting, I didn\u2019t want him to feel like he bought a problem so I wouldn\u2019t say anything about Ja Rule and them.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe G-Unit honcho couldn\u2019t process how excited Em was to meet him and potentially collaborate while he was already dominating the industry and coming off the fresh release of his iconic The Marshall Mathers LP<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWhen I met him, the first night I met him, he had an event.\u00a0The Marshall Mathers LP<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>just came out,\u201d 50 went on to provide more context to the initial meet-up. \u201cThe first week he sold 1.7 million records. And he was so excited about me that I\u2019m looking like, \u2018[Are] you serious?’\u201d <\/p>\n \n\t50 would end up signing a joint venture deal in June 2002 to Eminem\u2019s Shady Records and Dr. Dre\u2019s Aftermath Entertainment. \u201cWanksta\u201d served as the first single out of the partnership in November 2002, which landed on the 8 Mile <\/em>soundtrack and peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. <\/a><\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIn Da Club\u201d arrived in January 2003 and set the stage for 50 Cent to make the quantum leap to superstardom with his Get Rich Or Die Tryin\u2019<\/em> album <\/a>in February 2003. The glass-shattering debut LP launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 <\/a>with 872,000 album units sold in the first week. <\/p>\n \n\tWatch the interview below.
