\n\tThe Childish Gambino<\/a> chapter is coming to a close for Donald Glover.<\/a> The final installment is set to arrive on Friday (July 19) with his Bando Stone & The New World<\/em><\/a> album. <\/p>\n \n\tGlover sat down with The New York Times<\/a> <\/em>on Wednesday (July 17) ahead of the LP hitting streaming services later this week. The multi-hyphenate felt it was time to move on from the Childish Gambino moniker as it wasn\u2019t \u201cfulfilling\u201d to him anymore. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt really was just like, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s done.\u2019 It\u2019s not fulfilling,\u201d Glover admitted. \u201cAnd I just felt like I didn\u2019t need to build in this way anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tGambino isn\u2019t holding back with his final act, which will serve as the soundtrack companion to the blockbuster of the same name. He doesn\u2019t seem to have any regrets about moving forward.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI think grace is undervalued in the world,\u201d he added. \u201cWhen I put my son on my shoulders, I feel deep joy. That\u2019s real. No one on their deathbed is going to look back and say, \u2018Thank God I avoided being cringe.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe 40-year-old previewed his genre-blending album, which finds him embracing an array of influences, for an intimate audience with a listening experience <\/a>curated on NYC\u2019s Little Island earlier in July. <\/p>\n \n\tBando Stone<\/em> boasts a versatile lineup of guests including Jorja Smith, Yeat, Chloe Bailey, Steve Lacy, Flo Milli, Amaarae, Foushee and more. Glover\u2019s son even makes an artistic cameo. <\/p>\n \n\tThe album is Gambino\u2019s fifth under the moniker and first since 2020\u2019s 3.15.20<\/a><\/em>, which received an update with the release of Atavista<\/em>\u00a0(3.15.20 reimagined versions)<\/em><\/a> in May. <\/p>\n \n\tIt\u2019s a celebratory week for Donald Glover<\/a> who picked up a pair of Primetime Emmy nominations\u00a0<\/a>on Wednesday for his role as John Smith in Mr. & Mrs. Smith<\/em>. <\/p>\n \n\tHe\u2019s nominated in the outstanding lead actor in a drama series and outstanding writing for a drama series categories. Glover previously won the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for his work in his previous show, Atlanta<\/em>. <\/p>\n \n\tCo-stars in the Amazon Prime Video series Donald Glover\u00a0and\u00a0Francesca Sloane released a statement reacting to the Emmy noms exclusively to Billboard<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWhat is happening!
