Jesse Lingard hits back at Man United boss Rangnick\u2019s absence claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has taken to social media on Thursday evening, to reject the claims of manager Ralf Rangnick that he requested time away from the club, to clear his head.<\/p>\n<p>For those not aware, interim Red Devils boss Rangnick was drawn on Lingard\u2019s situation earlier today, ahead of the club\u2019s upcoming FA Cup showdown with Middlesbrough.<\/p>\n<p>This of course comes after the English international \u2013 amid intense interest \u2013 failed to secure a move away from Old Trafford in January, despite majorly struggling for game-time over the opening half of the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Rangnick, in turn, first went on to confirm that Lingard would not be part of his matchday squad to face off against Boro on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>From here, though, the German suggested that this came owing to a decision made by the midfielder himself, amid the claim that Lingard had requested a leave of absence, in an attempt to \u2018clear his mind\u2019:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Ralf Rangnick says Jesse Lingard asked for a couple of days to \u2018clear his mind\u2019 and will miss Man Utd\u2019s game against Middlesbrough tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Simon Stone (@sistoney67) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sistoney67\/status\/1489237290333483010?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 3, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Headspace is clear\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>But, as alluded to above, Lingard has since hit back.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to social media on Thursday evening, the 29-year-old revealed that, in fact, it was those in a position at Manchester United who advised him to spend some time away from the club.<\/p>\n<p>Lingard himself, though, remains in a \u2018clear\u2019 frame of mind, ready to take to the pitch and \u2018give 100 percent\u2019 once called upon:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The club advised me to have time off due to personal reasons!
