\n\tMediaCo Holding has acquired all of Estrella Media\u2019s network, content, digital and commercial operations, the company \u202fannounced on Thursday (April 18).<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to a press release, the transaction \u2014 which closed April 17 \u2014 will see Estrella Media brands join MediaCo. These include the EstrellaTV network\u2019s linear and digital video content business, Estrella Media\u2019s digital channels (EstrellaTV, Estrella News, Cine EstrellaTV and Estrella Games) and the EstrellaTV app.<\/p>\n

\n\tThough the deal does not include Estella Media\u2019s TV and radio stations, a press release notes that the transaction will allow MediaCo to \u201creach the established audiences of\u201d those stations, including\u202fQue Buena Los Angeles,\u202fLa Raza\u202fin Houston and Dallas, and\u202fEl Norte\u202fin Houston.\u00a0MediaCo operates urban radio stations HOT 97 and WBLS 107.5 in New York. Per the transaction terms, Estrella will own and operate its local radio and TV stations while MediaCo will \u201cprovide the innovative programming and content to which their audiences have grown accustomed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJacqueline Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, who most recently served as CEO\/founder of New Majority Ready, has been appointed MediaCo\u2019s interim CEO. \u201cWe believe this combination is the first step in building a unique multicultural media company that will reach diverse U.S. audiences wherever they choose to consume content and create value for marketers working to reach these important audiences,\u201d she said in a statement. <\/p>\n
