\n\tKacey Musgraves<\/a>\u2018 fifth studio album, Deeper Well<\/em>, has arrived.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer-songwriter first teased the news of the album in early February, with a series of photos and a social media post<\/a> which read, \u201cI\u2019m saying goodbye to the people that I feel are real good at wasting my time\u2026No regrets, baby, I just think that maybe you go your way and I\u2019ll go mine.\u201d Those words, of course, are lyrics to Deeper Well<\/em>\u2018s title track; Musgraves co-wrote the song with longtime collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk. Musgraves followed by releasing another song from the album, \u201cToo Good to Be True.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMusgraves told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1<\/a> about the new album, saying, \u201cI\u2019ve found more of a connection to my softer side, my roots, like some of the Americana, the folk, the country\u2026really the warmth of that. I felt drawn to that. I felt like I was in a softer place myself after [Musgraves\u2019 2021 album]\u00a0star-crossed\u00a0<\/em>and going through a divorce and doing a lot of therapy and honestly falling in love again and opening myself back up to the human experience. These songs just kind of started coming out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn her new project, Musgraves drew inspiration from the energy and artistic legacy of New York City\u2019s Greenwich Village. She also recorded the album <\/a>at the iconic Electric Lady studios.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSometimes you reach a crossroads. Winds change direction,\u201d Musgraves previously said in a statement. \u201cWhat you once felt drawn to doesn\u2019t hold the same allure, you get blown off course but eventually find your footing and forage for new inspiration, new insight and\u00a0deeper\u00a0love somewhere else.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 14-track album was announced after Musgraves picked up her seventh Grammy honor, for best country duo\/group performance for her Zach Bryan collaboration \u201cI Remember Everything.\u201d That Grammy victory made Musgraves the first artist to win in all four country field categories, having previously won best country solo performance in 2019 (\u201cSpace Cowboy\u201d), as well as best country album and best country song in both 2014 (Same Trailer, Different Park<\/em> and \u201cMerry Go \u2018Round\u201d) and 2019 (Golden Hour<\/em> and \u201cSpace Cowboy\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI Remember Everything\u201d became Musgraves\u2019 first Hot 100 chart-topper, and spent 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart; she has also earned four top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 to date, among them star-crossed<\/em> and Golden Hour<\/em>. <\/p>\n
