Black Sabbath<\/a>\u2019s \u201cParanoid\u201d joins Spotify\u2019s Billions Club \u2013 an elite collection of works that have accumulated more than one billion streams.<\/p>\n\n\tRecognized as a classic of the heavy metal genre, \u201cParanoid\u201d is the title track from the band\u2019s 1970 LP, peaking at No. 4 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart and No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n
\n\tThough it continues to rock hard on Spotify and other streaming platforms, \u201cParanoid\u201d was written in the studio \u201cin five minutes,\u201d Black Sabbath bass player Geezer Butler told Guitar World<\/em> in 2004. The song was \u201cwritten as an afterthought. We basically needed a three-minute filler for the album, and Tony (Iommi) came up with the riff. I quickly did the lyrics, and Ozzy (Osbourne) was reading them as he was singing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
