\n\tFor the latest stop on her Pink Friday 2<\/a><\/em> promo run, Nicki Minaj returned to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/em> on Wednesday (Dec. 20) to chat about her new album and trade freestyle bars with the Emmy-winning host.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ll do the beat, you just be entertained,\u201d Minaj quipped as Colbert clumsily attempted to make a lunchroom beat on his desk. \u201cThat\u2019s not the beat I taught you last time I was here!\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tFive years ago<\/a>, when she was promoting her Queen <\/em>album, Minaj showed Colbert how to make a simple beat and freestyle<\/a> to it. Evidently, the Late Show <\/em>host has spent the past half-decade honing his skills, because his retorts to Minaj\u2019s bars shocked even the \u201cSuper Freaky Girl\u201d rapper herself.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a flow and rhythm taken from Pink Friday 2<\/em> breakout hit \u201cFTCU\u201d \u2014 lovingly renamed \u201cF\u2013k the Colbert Up\u201d \u2014 Nicki spits, \u201cHigh heels on for Stevie\/ If I marry Stevie, he ain\u2019t ever gon\u2019 leave me.\u201d In response, Colbert raps, \u201cHigh heels or not, Nicki \/ You better hope you never meet my wife, Evie!\u201d The hilarious comeback shocked Minaj into a few moments of silence before she and the audience broke out into uncontrollable laughter.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> (chart dated Dec. 23, 2023), \u201cFTCU\u201d was one of 14<\/a> Pink Friday 2<\/em> tracks to appear on the ranking \u2014 the most of any female rapper in history. Over on the Billboard 200<\/a>, Pink Friday 2<\/em> became Minaj\u2019s third No. 1 LP, making her the female rapper with the most chart-topping efforts. The new album is both the Queen of Rap\u2019s long-awaited fifth studio album and the sequel to\u00a0Pink Friday<\/em>, her\u00a0Billboard 200-topping 2010 debut album. The ever-expanding 24-track set sports collaborations with\u00a0Drake<\/a>,\u00a0J. Cole<\/a>,\u00a0Lil Uzi Vert<\/a> and more. Recent singles including \u201cRed Ruby Da Sleeze,\u201d \u201cLast Time I Saw You\u201d and the Hot 100<\/a>-topping \u201cSuper Freaky Girl\u201d also appear on the tracklist.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring her interview with Colbert, Minaj revealed that she\u2019s \u201cstill working\u201d on the album. \u201cI put more songs that entire week,\u201d she said in reference to late-stage additions such as the 50 Cent-assisted \u201cBeep Beep.\u201d<\/a> \u201cMy entire label looked like they were about to have heart attacks!\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tWith the promise of more new music, it looks like Minaj is prepping for an extended stay in Gag City<\/a> \u2014 the A.I. kingdom her fans created in anticipation of Pink Friday 2<\/em>. According to Minaj, who presumably is the head of state in Gag City, everyone is entitled to \u201ca free mansion, free car and free canned goods\u201d in her kingdom.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cSuper Bass\u201d rapper\u2019s conversation with Colbert also touched on her 3-year-old son, affectionately nicknamed Papa Bear. Minaj spilled about being a first-time mom, watching her son grow right before her eyes and, in turn, growing as a person herself. \u201cMy life was so selfish before he came here,\u201d she gushed to the comedian. \u201cSince this little human came onto Planet Earth, I can\u2019t do anything without thinking about him first. There\u2019s this thing that happens every day when I see his face, which is more than anything money could buy in the world. So, I\u2019m really happy I pushed him out!\u201d<\/p>\n
