Miscommunication or shots fired?<\/h2>\n

There was something of a clash between Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick and forward Anthony Martial in the aftermath of their 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, which saw Manchester United fall yet further behind in the race for the top 4.<\/p>\n

And, despite a start for Anthony Elanga, and the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford, there was no sign of Martial among the substitutes.<\/p>\n

Quizzed on the situation, caretaker\u00a0Ralf Rangnick revealed<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t want to be in the squad.<\/span><\/p>\n

He would have been in the squad normally but he didn\u2019t want to and that was the reason why he didn\u2019t travel with us yesterday (Friday).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, Martial hit back. Taking to Instagram, he claimed:<\/p>\n

\u201cI will never refuse to play a match for Man United. I\u2019ve been here for 7 years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, they seem to have made up.<\/p>\n

Rangnick lifts lid<\/h2>\n

Now, speaking ahead of Manchester United\u2019s midweek clash with Brentford on Wednesday night, it seems as though Ragnick has cleared the air.<\/p>\n

Fielding questions on the issue, the German revealed:<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a conversation with Anthony on Sunday, a personal conversation with him about what happened and how I saw the whole situation. The matter is now resolved. Let\u2019s see\u201d<\/p>\n
