Emerson struggling with Tottenham<\/h2>\n

Tottenham would sign Emerson Royal from FC Barcelona on transfer deadline day during the 2021 summer window.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian is\u00a0believed<\/a>\u00a0to have set the club back \u20ac30m, and is also understood<\/a> to have attracted interest from Spurs\u2019 north London rivals, Arsenal, over the summer.<\/p>\n

Since making the switch to Tottenham, Emerson has not had the best of times.<\/p>\n

The right-back featured for 90 minutes vs Crystal Palace on his debut, coming in for heavy\u00a0criticism<\/a>\u00a0from fans as his new side went on to lose 3-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Barcelona\u2019s shock at Emerson deal<\/h2>\n

Despite his slow start, Emerson has continued to be a key feature for the north Londoners this term.<\/p>\n

Even under new boss Antonio Conte, Emerson has maintained a starting berth. Apart from missing two games due to injury, the South American has started in every single one of the Italian\u2019s league games as Spurs boss.<\/p>\n

However, even though Conte has continued to pick Emerson, reports<\/a> emerged recently that the former Inter Milan boss has doubts over Emerson\u2019s ability to play as a right-wing-back.<\/p>\n

Now, a further bit of information regarding Emerson has come to light that is unlikely to please Tottenham fans \u2013 though it may bring a smile to the faces of their London rivals Arsenal who, as mentioned above, did look to be interested in Emerson over the summer before they eventually signed Takehiro Tomiyasu.<\/p>\n

As reported by The Telegraph<\/a>, sources claim Barcelona still cannot believe Spurs offered to pay \u00a325.8m for Emerson.<\/p>\n

The same report, though, claims Tottenham are looking to add another right-wing-back to their squad, with Wolves\u2019 Adama Traore mentioned.<\/p>\n
