Her new version of <em>Fancy That<\/em> highlight \u201cStateside\u201d \u2014 included on remix album <em>Fancy Some More?<\/em>, and co-starring Zara Larsson \u2014 caught fire to begin the year, helped by an eye-catching music video brilliantly showcasing the two buzzy stars, and sped to the top 30 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-100\">Billboard Hot 100<\/a>. Now, thanks to U.S. ice skating star Alysa Liu, the song might be headed towards its biggest week yet. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLiu won gold medals in both the singles and team women\u2019s figure skating events at the Milan Winter Olympics, which just concluded on Sunday (Feb. 22). And while much about Liu made headlines and captured hearts, one recurring theme of hers throughout her events and interviews was her love of PinkPantheress, as Liu <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@pitchfork\/video\/7605730680319888654?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc\" target=\"_blank\">called PP\u2019s <em>Heaven Knows<\/em><\/a> her \u201cperfect 10 out of 10 album,\u201d and also made her love of <em>To Hell With It<\/em>\u2018s \u201cPassion\u201d known, <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@raymondbraun\/video\/7607604613155458335?is_from_webapp=1\" target=\"_blank\">earning a response call<\/a> from the artist herself thanking her for her support. To cap it off, Liu performed a free-skate routine to the \u201cStateside\u201d remix, <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/brinaroan\/status\/2025704658610561157?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2025704658610561157%7Ctwgr%5E139547499cb3434cc0c617f45e07989f387ca7c7%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdailydot.com%2Falysa-liu-stateside-pinkpantheress-zara-larsson\" target=\"_blank\">even recreating<\/a> some of Pink\u2019s choreography from the video. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tConsequently, \u201cStateside\u201d has been blowing up on streaming, racking up nearly 1.8 million official on-demand U.S. streams on Monday (Feb. 23), the day after her final routine \u2014 an 88% gain over the 952,000 she amassed the prior Monday (Feb. 16), according to early data provided by Luminate. The song has continued to climb on DSPs in the days since, moving into the top 10 on Apple Music\u2019s real-time chart and climbing to No. 2 on Spotify\u2019s Daily Top Songs USA chart. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPinkPantheress isn\u2019t the only pop luminary who Liu has been boosting with her routines. Earlier in the week, Liu performed to Laufey\u2019s \u201cPromise,\u201d resulting in the 2023 song scoring 1.3 million streams over the first four days of this tracking week (Feb. 20-23), a 67% gain over the four-day period the week before. (Laufey also shouted Liu out at a recent live performance, saying she \u201cbrought [the song] such new life.\u201d) And she also skated to Donna Summer\u2019s Hot 100-topping disco rendition of the Jimmy Webb-penned \u201cMacArthur Park,\u201d which brought that song up 976% in streams and 4,787% in sales (to 481,000 and 1,500, respectively) over that same period, earning thanks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DVHD-ehiaVb\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">from Webb himself.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLiu wasn\u2019t the only U.S. gold medal-winner offering streaming and sales bumps this past weekend: Lynyrd Skynyrd\u2019s classic rock staple \u201cFree Bird,\u201d victory song for the U.S. Men\u2019s Hockey team, also rose 78% in streams (to 1.2 million) and 478% in sales (to 1,500) over Feb. 22-23 from the same period the week before, following the squad\u2019s gold-clinching overtime win over Canada. Seven weeks later, that figure vaulted 187% to over 1.98 million official streams earned last week (Feb. 13-19).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNaturally \u2014 since dance plays a key role in both\u00a0<em>Step Up\u00a0<\/em>and the \u201cGive It Up\u201d music video \u2014 dance has been the primary driving factor behind the song\u2019s resurgence.\u00a0At the top of the year (Jan. 3), TikTok user @kate.nita.off posted a\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@kate.nita.off\/video\/7591183008263113996?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc&amp;web_id=7517014253786678815\">dance challenge<\/a>\u00a0in a clip\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0collected 11.6 million views to date, kicking off one choreography trend.\u00a0Two weeks later (Jan. 16), TikTok user\u00a0@lea._.meep\u00a0shared\u00a0her\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@lea._.meep\/video\/7596113119143939350?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc&amp;web_id=7517014253786678815\">dance challenge<\/a>\u00a0in a post that has since garnered over 14 million views.\u00a0Both clips focused on Cole\u2019s verse, as did popular\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@jacobday\/video\/7602830819106770190?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc&amp;web_id=7517014253786678815\">thirst traps<\/a>\u00a0(5.5 million views and 1.3 million likes) and\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@lleskk3\/video\/7595846635687578887?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc&amp;web_id=7517014253786678815\">Alba\u00a0fancams<\/a>\u00a0(7.8 million views and one million likes).\u00a0The official \u201c(When You\u00a0Gonna) Give It Up to Me\u201d TikTok sound currently plays in over half a million posts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOn Monday (Feb. 23), Sean Paul himself hopped on the trend, posting a\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@duttypaul\/video\/7609773258203761934?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc&amp;web_id=7517014253786678815\">TikTok of himself lip-syncing<\/a>\u00a0to his parts of the chorus; In the U.S., the song has also been climbing steadily, growing from 767,000 official on-demand U.S. streams for the tracking week ending Jan. 29 to nearly 1.5 million three weeks later, a gain of 95%. (The song debuts at No. 38 on <em>Billboard<\/em>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/rock-songs\/\">Hot Rock &amp; Alternative Songs<\/a> chart this week as a result.)
