\n\tRoan made the carpet walk with her shoulders and torso partially covered by a deep garnet cape constructed in a romantic georgette fabric, with her hair styled in waves cascading down her chest. For her main shot, the sheer drapery was pulled away, leaving just an airy negligee. The uppermost part of the dress was affixed to silver nipple rings, creating a delicate, swooping drape suspended below her bare chest. \n\tThe dress was inspired by Manfred Thierry Mugler\u2019s \u201cJeu de Paume\u201d line circa spring\/summer 1998, when model Erica Vanbriel walked the runway in a version in black. The look is revisited for the Mugler spring\/summer 2026 collection by Miguel Castro Freitas.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe wanted it to come off very elegant, goddess-like, and classy,\u201d Vanbriel recalled<\/a> in 2023 of Mugler\u2019s original vision for the nipple ring dress that debuted in the late \u201990s.<\/p>\n

\n\tSaid Vanbriel, \u201cI distinctly remember the silence when I stepped out on the runway. It was very serene, and you could hear people talking about it as copious cameras flashed in my eyes. It was a little bit nerve racking, and I remember thinking, \u2018Oh my goodness, here I am with my boobs out.\u2019 But on the other hand, it is Mugler, it\u2019s sexy, it\u2019s hot, it\u2019s daring, and it\u2019s out the<\/p>\n

\n\tGenesis Webb styled Roan for the Grammy Awards, where the pop star \u2014 named best new artist at last year\u2019s ceremony \u2014 was nominated for record of the year and best pop solo performance for \u201cThe Subway.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBy the time she graced the stage to present the 2026 best new artist award Sunday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Roan had a wardrobe change. She wore a draped one-shoulder gown in a neutral colorway as she handed the award to recipient Olivia Dean<\/a>.<\/p>\n
