\n\tThe White House didn\u2019t take too kindly to Jack White<\/a>\u2018s recent criticism of the building\u2019s decor under Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s second presidential term, with one official lambasting the musician as a \u201closer\u201d in a new statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a Tuesday comment to Daily Beast<\/em><\/a>, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung fired back at the rock star \u2014 who\u2019d slammed the revamped interior of the president\u2019s official home as \u201cvulgar, gold leafed and gaudy\u201d the day prior \u2014 by calling White a \u201cwashed up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s apparent he\u2019s been masquerading as a real artist, because he fails to appreciate, and quite frankly disrespects, the splendor and significance of the Oval Office inside of \u2018The People\u2019s House,’\u201d Cheung added.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe harsh remarks follow White\u2019s heated Aug. 18 post <\/a>on Instagram, in which he\u2019d shared a photo of Trump speaking with Ukraine\u2019s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office and written, \u201cLook at how disgusting trump has transformed the historic White House.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLook at his disgusting taste, would you even buy a used car from this conman, let alone give him the nuclear codes?\u201d the former White Stripes band member had added in the post, which was \u201cliked\u201d by Olivia Rodrigo and Maren Morris. \u201cWhat an embarrassment to American history.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs it turns out, though, White wasn\u2019t finished. Shortly after Cheung spoke to Daily Beast<\/em>, the 12-time Grammy winner reshared the director\u2019s words in a follow-up Instagram<\/a> post calling Cheung a \u201cprofessional liar.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhite also unleashed several more paragraphs detailing his dislike of the president and calling out the White House for commenting on such a superficial matter while ignoring criticisms of Trump\u2019s handling of more important issues. \u201cHow petty and pathetic and thin skinned could this administration get?\u201d he wrote. \u201c\u2018Masquerading as a real artist?\u2019 \u2026 Trump is masquerading as a human being. He\u2019s masquerading as a Christian, as a leader, as a person with actual empathy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSharing various photos of Trump holding up flashy gold sneakers, posing with Goya products and showing Zelenskyy a shelf stocked with red \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d caps, White also added in his caption, \u201cThis man is a danger to not just America, but the entire world, and that\u2019s not an exaggeration, he\u2019s dismantling democracy and endangering the planet on a daily basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhite has never been shy about vocalizing his opinions on Trump, whom he called<\/a> an \u201cobvious fascist\u201d and \u201cwannabe dictator\u201d in November after the billionaire won the 2024 election. Before that, Jack and his ex-wife\/former White Stripes bandmate sued Trump<\/a> for using \u201cSeven Nation Army\u201d in a social media post.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt a concert in March, the guitarist also changed the opening<\/a> line of his song \u201cCorporation\u201d \u2014 which usually goes \u201cI\u2019m thinking about starting a corporation, who\u2019s with me?\u201d \u2014 to mock the twice-impeached POTUS. \u201cI\u2019m thinking about not being elected,\u201d he said on stage. \u201cNever holding a public office. Never serving one day of military service. But somehow having the authority to control parts of the U.S. Government. Who\u2019s with me?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
