\n\tIn a heartbreaking letter posted Tuesday (Aug. 12) \u2014 five days after the 48-year-old music manager\u2019s death was first announced \u2014 the country singer-songwriter paid tribute to Brandon\u2019s \u201clegacy and laughter\u201d on Instagram<\/a>. McEntire and Narvel Blackstock, Brandon\u2019s father, were married for 26 years before splitting in 2015. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLast week, my stepson\/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God,\u201d McEntire began. \u201cHis struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God\u2019s presence.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Voice <\/em>coach also shared a handful of photos of herself and Brandon, including one snap of them fishing together, and another of the pair smiling while petting a chicken. \u201cThere is no one else like him, and I\u2019m thankful for the time we had together,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHis legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family,\u201d McEntire added. \u201cRest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEven though Narvel and Reba <\/em>actress parted ways a decade ago, McEntire often spoke of Brandon as if he were her own biological son. She is also a stepmom to Narvel\u2019s two other children, as well as a mom to son Shelby Blackstock, who shared his own tribute to Brandon a few days ago.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWords cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured \u2026 We will always miss you, Brandon,\u201d the race car driver wrote Aug. 8 on Instagram<\/a>, to which McEntire replied in the comments, \u201cVery well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to being family, McEntire and Brandon also used to work together during the singer\u2019s time at Starstruck Entertainment, which Narvel founded. While working with his father at the company, Brandon helped manage the careers of artists such as Blake Shelton and Carly Pearce. He was also used to represent ex-wife Kelly Clarkson, to whom he was married for seven years and shared two children.<\/p>\n

\n\tStarstruck was the first to publicly announce<\/a> Brandon\u2019s death, posting a statement to social media on Aug. 7. \u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,\u201d it read. \u201cBrandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
