\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s been months of non-stop work, first releasing my music and now, thank God, announcing my first tour in the United States,\u201d the 22-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter tells Billboard Espa\u00f1ol<\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s something I\u2019m very excited about. \n\tThe artist, who writes both regional Mexican music and urbano<\/em> songs, arrives in the country at a time when other Mexican singers have faced delays or revocations of their work visas<\/a> amid stricter immigration policies under the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s something he doesn\u2019t take for granted. \u201cI\u2019m very fortunate to have my work visa because, thanks to it, I\u2019ll be able to bring my music to the people who follow me and have supported me during this time,\u201d says Vega.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 30-date tour \u2014 in support of his debut album Mi Vida, Mi Muerte<\/em>, which reached No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart<\/a> \u2014 kicks off this Friday (June 27) at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif., where tickets sold out in less than two hours. Among other cities, he will make stops in Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Houston, Las Vegas, Dallas and Los Angeles, where he will perform at the BMO Stadium on Aug. 23 with special guests Yeri Mua and V\u00edctor Mend\u00edvil.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe songwriter behind some of the biggest hits for stars such as Peso Pluma<\/a>, Tito Double P<\/a>, \u00d3scar Mayd\u00f3n<\/a> and Luis R. Conriquez <\/a>had maintained a low profile until late last year, when he decided to take ownership of his own compositions. In just a few months, with tracks including \u201cLoco,\u201d \u201cMorena\u201d and \u201cM&M,\u201d he surpassed 800 million streams and now boasts around 31 million monthly listeners on Spotify.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith his rise, the cofounder of the indie label Josa Records needed an even larger team to take his career to the next level. So in collaboration with Music Vip Entertainment (Grupo Firme), led by Isael Guti\u00e9rrez (recently featured on Billboard<\/em>\u2018s Indie Power Players list<\/a>), he worked on a show lasting approximately two hours.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere are several surprises; there will be dancers and choreography for nine songs, along with spectacular moments,\u201d Juli\u00e1n Guti\u00e9rrez, head of production and logistics for the tour, reveals to Billboard<\/em>. \u201cWe can guarantee that fans will enjoy every moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSimultaneously, Vega continues to work on his music. On June 20, he released a new single, \u201cQu\u00e9 Motor,\u201d in which he showcases his hip-hop skills. \u201cSometimes you rack your brain trying to find the perfect song, and it comes when you least expect it,\u201d he says. \u201c[This one] flowed so naturally that I can say it\u2019s the song I\u2019ve connected with myself the most.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRegarding his recent collaborations, he denies rumors that he is already filming the video for \u201c+Perra +Bitch\u201d with Belinda. The speculation arose after the Mexican star posted photos on social media<\/a> showing them together. \u201cIt\u2019s planned, and we\u2019ll do it at some point,\u201d he explains, clarifying that \u201cthose images are from the day we recorded the song.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
