\n\tNicole George-Middleton<\/strong> has been promoted to executive vice president and head of creative membership at ASCAP, the organization announced Wednesday (April 23).<\/p>\n \n\tIn her elevated role, George-Middleton will oversee songwriter, lyricist, and composer relations, reporting directly to ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews<\/strong> and joining the organization\u2019s senior leadership team. She will also continue to serve as executive director of The ASCAP Foundation while a successor is identified.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cNicole is an extraordinary executive with a passion for music and an expansive vision for how ASCAP can help our creator members thrive in an increasingly complex and challenging environment,\u201d Matthews said in a statement. \u201cShe is an innovative leader who brings an unparalleled level of tenacity, intelligence, hard work and good humor to every situation.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThrough my work both in membership and at The ASCAP Foundation, I\u2019ve been fortunate to build relationships with ASCAP members in all genres, which is fulfilling on every level,\u201d George-Middleton said. \u201cI look forward to working with the entire ASCAP membership team to find new ways of supporting the careers of our members, promoting their creative work, and cultivating new opportunities for their success.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tPrior to ASCAP, George-Middleton served as director of business and legal affairs at Zomba Music Group and practiced entertainment law at The Middleton Law Group PC. She holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.<\/p>\n \n\tASCAP represents more than one million songwriters, composers, and music publishers and reported record-breaking financials in 2024, with $1.835 billion in revenue and $1.696 billion in royalty distributions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
