By then, she had also made multiple appearances on ABC\u2019s <em>All My Children<\/em> \u2014 working with Sarah Michelle Gellar. That connection led to Trachtenberg joining Gellar on <em>Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em> from 2000 through its 2003 finale. (A reboot is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/buffy-reboot-sarah-michelle-gellar-hulu-1236126335\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the works<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhen the series shifted from the WB to UPN for its sixth season, fans were treated to one of its most innovative episodes: the musical <em>Once More With Feeling<\/em>. Mirroring the show\u2019s trademark witty dialog (one lyric features singing-averse Alyson Hannigan <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/5r0eEijsLRJtmUky3Hw1NO?si=d21a81604c0e4d8a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">admitting<\/a>, \u201cI think this line\u2019s mostly filler\u201d), the set slayed <em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s charts, most notably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/soundtracks\/2002-10-12\/\">debuting at its No. 3 best<\/a> on the Soundtracks chart \u2014 a year after the episode aired. It also hit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-200\/\">Billboard 200<\/a> and Independent Albums charts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTo date, the album has drawn 23.6 million streams in the U.S., according to Luminate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn 2016, upon the 15th anniversary of <em>Once More With Feeling<\/em>\u2019s premiere, the series\u2019 Anthony Head \u2014 aka Buffy\u2019s slayer sage, Giles \u2014 mused about the idea to give the cast <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/0YY6TGLqdmkdpjuG0jZQEd?si=82eb6d3206fe4b2a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">something to sing about<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019d done <em>Chess<\/em>, <em>Godspell<\/em> and <em>Rocky Horror<\/em> before I joined <em>Buffy<\/em>, and, on the pilot, [creator Joss Whedon], Sarah Michelle and I were waiting in the back of the library set and [Whedon] said he had a huge fondness for musicals,\u201d Head <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/chart-beat-podcast-buffy-the-vampire-slayer-star-anthony-head-on\/\">recalled to <em>Billboard<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cWe said then, \u2018If the show ever gets picked up, wouldn\u2019t it be fun to do a musical episode?\u2019 Pretty much every season, for three or four seasons, I said, \u2018Are we going to do the musical episode this year?!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHead said that Whedon wanted to wait until it felt \u201corganic,\u201d and by the sixth season, after the cast\u2019s vocal chops had been discovered and honed through singalongs at Whedon\u2019s house, and the show\u2019s storylines had been furthered, the timing seemed right. Before the season, Head received a demo of songs from Whedon, who realized at last, per Head, \u201c\u2019We\u2019ve got a musical!\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt was just remarkable,\u201d Head marveled. \u201cEven in that home-demo stage \u2026 the melodies were so strong. It was a great, eclectic compilation of songs. From that moment on, I was like, \u2018What can I do?
