\n\tShakira<\/a>\u2018s concert in Medell\u00edn, Colombia, that was scheduled for Monday (Feb. 24) has been postponed. Event organizers said there were safety concerns for the show at Estadio Atanasio Girardot, after the roof of the stage installed by local production was damaged.<\/p>\n

\n\tShakira \u2014 who was forced to reschedule another\u00a0Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour date in Lima, Peru, last weekend, when she was hospitalized<\/a> with an \u201cabdominal\u201d condition\u00a0\u2014 expressed regret regarding another unexpected concert postponement on Saturday. She shared the news with fans in a note on social media.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy children were excited to get to know Medell\u00edn, and I was excited to meet you again and share all the surprises I had prepared for them. I\u2019m sorry for the inconvenience, especially for those who have traveled. It\u2019s out of my hands and those of my production team, but I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll soon find a new date to celebrate together,\u201d said Shakira.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAlways grateful for the unconditional support you give me,\u201d she added. \u201cI love you very much and I hope to see you very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tConcert promoter P\u00e1ramo Presenta said Shakira\u2019s performance would be rescheduled.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTogether with Shakira\u2019s team, we are working on new concerts for Colombia in the second half of this year, news that will be celebrated by more than one city in the country,\u201d read a statement on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tP\u00e1ramo Presenta explained why the decision to cancel Monday\u2019s concert had been made, noting there was a risk to the safety of the performers, the crew and the crowd.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe update on Saturday said, \u201cDuring the assembly process of the show scheduled for February 24, the roof of the stage installed by the local production suffered damage that puts at risk the safety of the artist, her staff and, most importantly, that of the audience. The promoter and the artist\u2019s team are working together and hope to reschedule the date in the future. We understand that this decision may be annoying for the public who were anxiously awaiting the show, but the most important thing is everyone\u2019s safety.\u201d<\/p>\n
