\n\tTiny Desk Concerts have become a rite of passage for artists, and Leon Thomas<\/a> checked off another box in his ascension on Thursday (Feb. 20) as the R&B star made his debut on the NPR<\/em> office stage.<\/p>\n \n\tRocking a Satoshi Nakamoto T-shirt, shades and his red-dyed braids hanging out of his bandana, Thomas strummed his guitar and let his intoxicating vocals sedate the audience.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Nickelodeon alum kicked off his set with the rock-fused \u201cVIBES DON\u2019T LIE.\u201d \u201cThis has to be the most lit office of all time,\u201d he said in the midst of his performance. \u201cI\u2019m f\u2014ing with y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tPer NPR<\/em>, Thomas beat a snowstorm to fly in and was even a half-hour earlier than expected. Flanked by a live band and a pair of vocalists, the 31-year-old singer performed the jazzy \u201cYES IT IS\u201d and his album title track \u201cMUTT,\u201d <\/a>which invaded the Billboard Hot 100 <\/a>earlier in February to give Thomas his first chart entry.<\/p>\n \n\tThomas took it back to Electric Dusk<\/em> to close out with catalog staples \u201cBreaking Point\u201d and \u201cTreasure in the Hills,\u201d proving performance artistry is still alive and well.<\/p>\n \n\tThere are plenty of firsts taking place for Thomas in his burgeoning career.
