Birmingham-raised songwriter Mvula assisted frontman Chris Martin on vocals, having previously performed alongside Coldplay at the band\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/concerts\/glastonbury-festival-2024-lineup-1235632824\/\">2024 Glastonbury headline set<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The set was recorded at the BBC Maida Vale studios in north London, during which the band also performed their hit single \u201cViva La Vida,\u201d as well as tracks from their 2024 LP <em>Moon Music,<\/em> including \u201cThe Karate Kid,\u201d \u201cAll My Love,\u201d and \u201cfeelslikeimfallinginlove.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can listen back to the session via <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sounds\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sounds\">BBC Sounds. <\/a>The performance will also be broadcast at 10:40 p.m. (GMT) tomorrow (Feb. 5) on BBC One.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Coldplay - Sunshine On Leith ft. Laura Mvula (Radio 2 Piano Room)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Nn-UR5YBZBk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMartin and bandmate Guy Berryman spoke to BBC broadcaster Jo Whiley about Coldplay\u2019s forthcoming 10-night <em>Music Of The Spheres <\/em>residency at London\u2019s Wembley Stadium, which will take place later this summer (Aug. 22 \u2013 Sept. 8).<\/p>\n<p>They also discussed whether the four-piece will return to Glastonbury in the future and last year\u2019s <em>Moon Music<\/em> LP, which topped both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-200\/\">the Billboard 200<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.officialcharts.com\/charts\/albums-chart\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Official U.K. Albums Chart<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Discussing their choice of cover, Martin explained that Berryman had sent him \u201cSunshine On Leith\u201d \u2013 from The Proclaimers\u2019 second album of the same name \u2013 \u201cthree days ago.\u201d He added: \u201cHe said, \u2018Listen to this song by The Proclaimers\u2019, and I\u2019d never heard it before, and it blew me away. I\u2019d never heard it before and then I watched the Hibernian [FC] fans singing in the terraces and it just gets me so much, that song.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/business\/touring\/coldplay-breaks-record-largest-stadium-shows-21st-century-1235885466\/\">Last month, Coldplay broke the record for the largest-ever stadium shows<\/a> of the 21st Century, according to Live Nation. Across two nights (Jan. 25-26), the band performed for more than 223,000 fans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.
