\n\tJeremy Erlich<\/strong> will be leaving his position as Spotify\u2019s global head of music, a company spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday (Oct. 1). Erlich joined<\/a> the streaming service back in June 2019, after a stint as executive vp, business development at Interscope Records.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an email to staff this week, he explained that \u201cin the past few months, I\u2019ve been reflecting on what we\u2019ve achieved as a team and as a company and the challenges that lay ahead. Through this reflection, I\u2019ve decided that it\u2019s time for me to turn a page on this chapter after 5.5 incredible years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs I thought about the future, I found myself more and more excited about embarking on my own entrepreneurial journey,\u201d Erlich continued. \u201cIt\u2019s been a goal of mine for a long time and now feels like the right time to pursue it. This was a very difficult decision but, as I\u2019ve said many times before, you are the best team in the industry and I know you\u2019ll be in good hands going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tErlich will continue to advise the streaming service until the end of February. His previous reports \u2014 Sulinna Ong<\/strong>, global head of editorial, Joe Hadley<\/strong>, global head of music partnerships & audience, and Madeleine Bennett<\/strong>, global head of music go-to-market \u2014 will now report to David Kaefer<\/strong>, vice president, music & audiobook business.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhile change can feel hard,\u201d Erlich wrote, \u201cI\u2019m confident that this will only result in great things for the team, and I\u2019ll be here to help you all navigate through it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
